Kenya - Accessible/Easy Access Accommodation & Activities
It is almost impossible to describe what travel for mobility impaired people in Kenya is like in two paragraphs. Difficult is a good summary. In many places VERY difficult. But quite possible for those with an adventurous spirit. Not so much walking around and taking in the sights – footpaths, even along Nairobi’s busy streets – are sort of imaginary – varying from rough to not there. But going to places of interest – like the elephant orphanage in Nairobi, and on safari, is easy enough in the right vehicle and provides plenty of opportunities to see the sights and sounds of Africa.
Suitable accommodation is available and just requires the usual checking process you probably do anywhere. Air BNB is often a good option away from Nairobi with managers usually willing to check and describe/photograph the details of bathrooms, bedrooms etc. As the description of the Masai Mara shows, it is quite possible to find access-friendly tents as part of the game park experience.
